EMERGENCY FOOD CLOSET located at:  Bethany Presbyterian Church, 5625 24th Street, Sacrament, CA. 95822, 916-428-5290.  Hours: 9:00 am to 11:30 am Monday — Friday except holidays.  Who is Served:  Residents of these zip codes  95822, 95823, 95824, 95826, 95828, 95831, and 95832.  What Food is Given?: 3 day supply including (if available):  Meat, Rice/beans, vegetable/Fruit.  What is Required?:  Identification for each person requesting food.  DL or SS card, proof of address such as rental agreement or utility bill. How often may a person receive food?  Once a month.  In times like these, sometimes we need a little help.   Sponsored by the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership. 

SBA Spirit T-Shirs and Sweatshirts Order yours now!

Dear Parents:

Next month we will be placing an order for Susan B. Anthony Spirit T-Shirts and Sweatshirts.  The shirts are blue with the Bobcat on the upper right side.  We encourage or students to wear their T-shirts or sweatshirts on Fridays.  Please complete the order form sent home with your student. You may find it in the backpack .  Or stop by the office and ask Mrs. Delgado for an order form.  All orders must be pain in cash. Sweatshirts for students $20.00, Adult Sweatshirts $25.00-$21.00.  T-Shirts for students $11.00 – $8.00 Adult T-Shirts $11.00 – $8.00.  You don’t want to be left out when you blue and gold is flowing through the school. It is quite a sight. Show your bobcat spirit.

First Grade Parent Workshop

All First grade parents and Hmong Immersion Parents are encouraged to attend.

Cancelled P.T.O. Meeting

Parent Teacher Organization meeting will be cancelled for Friday, December 2, 2011.  We will resume meetings in January, 2012.  Parents are still welcome to volunteer in our parent center on Tuesdays. To sign up stop by the school office anytime.  No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. ~Aesop

Box Tops Collecting Kings and Queens

We are well on our way to meeting and succeeding our box tops collection goal. Thank you to parents, students, families in the Bobcat community for your continued support. Keep up the great work. We are #1.

Parent Information Exchange (P.I.E.) Luncheon

Susan B. Anthony Parent Advisor would like to invite our parent to attend a Luncheon. November 28, 2011 at 11:30 am.-12:30 pm. at the Serna Center Community Rooms located at 5735 47th Avenue, Sacramento, California. Entitled Preparing for the winter months & Emergency Assistance for needy families there will be presentations by Sacramento Food Bank, Sacramento Council PTA Clothes Closet, Parker Family Resource Center, SCUSD Homeless Services, Sacramento County Department of Human Assistance-Homeless Program.  The focus will be for support for our families through the long and challenging winter months ahead.  The luncheon is free of charge, through the generosity of our sponsors:   SMUD & SCHOOLS Financial Credit Union.   So come share some P.I.E. we look forward to seeing you there.

Thanksgiving Break No School

There will be NO SCHOOL November 21-25, 2011. This is Thanksgiving holiday break.  We will return to classes on Monday November 28,2011. Don’t forget to read a book over the vacation to keep your minds sharp.

Our Parent Center is still seeking volunteers to help in the classrooms or serve as readers for our students.  If you can donate one hour per week at Susan B., please call Mrs. Barnes our Parent Advisor, at (916) 433-5353.  Our students will really benefit from your help.

Spooky Cafeteria, Haunted House a Big Success

Susan B. Anthony’s PTO hosted its first haunted house Friday, October 28.  Our parents definitely created a creepy, spooky environment in our Multi-Purpose Room.  Hundreds of students experienced ghosts, witches, mummies, a gorilla, ghouls, snakes, spiders and skeletons.  All this for only $0.25 cents!  Every child received a goody bag when exiting the event.  Students were also able to take pictures in their costumes’ and purchase trinkets and popcorn.

A special Thank You to everyone who helped by donating items, creating monsters, playing ghoulish roles, making-up characters, donating candy and fog machines,carving pumpkins, providing special lighting, or volunteering their time before-during and after the haunted house. We couldn’t have done it without you!
